Job Type: Full-Time
Responsible for the daily technical support of Oracle Databases serving SAP / NON-SAP systems and SQL Server databases.
Work with the application development team, the infrastructure team, business units and the software vendors to develop and ensure a viable and consistent capacity and recovery solution.
Participate in discussions with application teams for any database requirements.
Have good knowledge about Physical and Logical structure of a database.
Build, create and support Oracle database environments as per Yellow/Oracle standards.
Perform database administration including tablespace, table and schema level reorganization
Perform database/schema copies using Oracle Utilities such as expdp / impdp
Work to set up and configure physical and logical standby databases. Monitor standby database performance and create copies out of standby database.
Build Data Guard environments for production databases and DR.
Participate in SQL code review and advise development teams of best practices in coding.
Develop a strategy for migrating to new releases of Oracle and installing fix packs.
Monitor database growth, estimate growth and sizing requirements to implement changes to support growth.
Monitor performance of databases / servers using OEM 13c, SAP Transaction Codes and SQL queries.
Develop and maintain Unix/Linux Scripts for automation, capacity planning, and monitoring.
Proactively monitor the database to identify potential problems and take necessary steps to avert them.
Handle daily production issues, projects and international rollout of SAP.
Participate in discussions with Security and Audit teams for SOX compliance.
Hands on experience in AWS cloud environment services viz. RDS instances, EC2, IAM, DMS
Experience in working with various storage technologies in AWS viz. EBS, EFS, S3
Experience in migrating oracle databases to AWS postgres
Migrating the current Linux environment to AWS/RHEL/Oracle Linux environment
Participate and perform Oracle Database Upgrade for SAP and NON-SAP Oracle Databases in Linux environment, patching, migrations and support Oracle/SAP architectural environment.
Perform SAP Database cloning by VMware snapshot method in single node cluster environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any subspecialty), or a related field plus
AWS certification will be an added advantage.
At least 10 years of experience:
progressive post baccalaureate experience in the field.
Working and managing experience in Oracle databases (10g,11g,12c,18c and 19c).
Installation and Maintenance of Oracle databases (10g,11g,12c,18c and 19c) on Linux and Windows platforms with Oracle single and multi-node RAC and ASM, ACO, ASO.
Working in Disaster Recovery (DR) setup and configuration.
Instance level tuning using Oracle’s AWR & ADDM tools, SQL query tuning using session tracing & sql profiles, sql baselines and sql outlines and with SAP tools.
24×7 production on-call support during off-hours and weekend will be required.
3-5 years of experience:
Migrating the current Linux environment to AWS/RHEL Linux environment and used Data guard feature.
Installation and configuration servers and nodes via CLI tools to AWS nodes.
Increasing EBS backed volume storage capacity when the root volume is full using AWS EBS Volume feature.
AWS Oracle RDS, Aurora Postgres SQL, MySQL as well as experience managing a large Oracle database on EMC Storage in a data center environment
Extensively working with cloud-based database environments preferably AWS cloud.
SQL server database administration.
Working with RMAN for backup, recovery and duplicate databases, Use DB Flashback feature to restore database/DB tables including replication for failover environments as well as disaster recovery.
Performance tuning methodologies including SQL Profiles, Baselines etc.
Managing databases in Engineered appliances such as Oracle Exadata and vBlock environments.
Working in Oracle Advanced Compression and Advanced Security option products
