IT Merchandising Planning & Allocation Solutions Project Manager

 

Overview: The Merchandising, Planning & Allocation Solutions Project Manager will provide direction, guidance, organization, analysis, and coordination on IT project initiatives. The position requires an understanding of corporate IT business functions within the Retail industry; focused on Merchandising, Planning & Allocation functions.  The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and be able to manage several projects in-parallel.  This individual will manage and drive projects from inception through completion and will work closely with technical SMEs, managers, and business partners.

 

Responsibilities:

Manage the delivery of multiple projects through full product development lifecycle via traditional and Agile delivery methodology
Ensure project objectives are understood and achieved in timeline/budget/quality
Facilitate overall project planning, design, development, and deployment
Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems 
Coordinate with IT and business partners to document business processes, requirements, and technology needs
Facilitate defining solutions that will meet business requirements
Ensure that all stakeholders participate in decisions and are informed on progress
Highlight project risks, including the development of contingency plans 
Manage project scope and change control and escalate issues as necessary
Track and report actual project spend compared to budget and recommend mitigation strategies if necessary
Liaise with any vendors or suppliers in relation to the project
Work with the Quality Assurance team to ensure proper testing and that test plans are aligned with project requirements
Develop Change Management plans as necessary 
Direct and motivate the project team
Take responsibility for overall progress and resource utilization
Lead regular project meetings
Maintain and update documentation used across teams and vendors
Demonstrate broad knowledge of Retail Enterprise Solutions
Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously

 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree or higher, IT or business concentration ideal
5+ years project management experience
Project Management Professional certification (Scrum or PMP) or equivalent experience
Strong record of delivering multiple large-scale, cross-functional projects with success
Retail experience working with Merchandising, Planning & Allocation applications is ideal
Experience with JIRA or other workflow tools
Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication, who can speak to both technical and non-technical team members with clarity and efficiency
Grows and strengthens relationships with business partners – committed to excellent customer service
Strong facilitation, organization, and negotiation skills
Detail-oriented
Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage several projects at a time
A positive influence who leads by example
Accountable for the delivery of outcomes.  Determined to overcome obstacles to move forward and strives to exceed expectations.
Naturally curious, dives into activities in pursuit of both technical and business solutions

Microsoft Project experience required
Advanced Excel skills required
Advanced PowerPoint skills required
Microsoft Visio experience preferred
