The primary responsibility of an Inventory Control Analyst is to effectively maintain accurate inventory information for the Distribution Center, all Yellow and Madewell stores, including any specialty and/or international stores

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Correct daily inventory transaction errors
Reconcile in-transit reports; receipts and transfers
Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of DC and store physical inventories
Research and resolve missing cartons; initiate and monitor claims with Traffic department
Provide DC and store support; reply to emails, return calls
Monitor DC and store operation procedures
Analyze existing reporting to drive DC and store compliance
Partner with other departments and/or locations to resolve open inventory issues
Communicates inventory issues with department supervisor and/or senior manager
Use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook email to communicate daily and share data with internal customers and inventory control leadership staff
Cross train and perform regularly in other areas of responsibility on a regular basis
Concentrate and apply cost savings and process improvements initiatives
Represent Finance Department in a professional and capable manner with DC operations
In alignment with inventory control management and Human Resource goals, support organizational initiatives, and follows company policies
Works with team members in support of process improvements and cost reductions
Understands team objectives within assigned work area
Applies basic skills and procedural knowledge within assigned work area
Reports to work as scheduled, using time clock system
Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor or senior manager
Flexibility to assist in the DC as requested by supervisor or senior manager

 

Education& Experience

High School diploma or GED required, some college preferred
Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and SAP
Distribution center experience preferred or knowledge of DC processes and procedures and/or retail store experience

 

Skills & Abilities

Ability to use computer software including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and SAP as well as any other office equipment or computer program needed to perform essential job functions
Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate on all levels
Strong recordkeeping and organization skills 
Ability to multi-task on projects/responsibilities as needed
Good problem-solving skills
Strong math skills
Highly quality conscious and detail oriented
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments accurately and completely with minimal instruction
Must be flexible and willing to work in other areas as needed
Knowledge of business or program terminology, office procedures, spelling, punctuation, grammar, arithmetic, and file maintenance
Understand and follow verbal and written instructions

 

Physical Requirements

This job is primarily an office job.  However, the position may require light to moderate lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, grasping, bending and stooping; climbing stairs as needed
Stand, sit, walk/move for duration of work shift

Type on keyboard / view computer screen for majority of work shift
Adjust to climate changes when requested to work in the DC; hot and cold extremes may occur in DC
