Responsibilities

Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for both batch and stream processing in a cloud-computing environment. Use Amazon AWS and Google GCP technologies and tools to develop ingestion pipelines. Implement monitoring and logging capabilities using Datadog, Splunk, and Looker. Automatically test and deploy code in production using CICD process. Build data warehouse using dimensional modeling to map business processes into an enterprise data model. Collect business and technical requirements across multiple business areas. Design logical and physical models using Star Schema. Implement robust, high-performance tables in Snowflake database. Build complex ETL infrastructure do deliver clean and reliable data to the organization. Build SQL code to clean, process, and format raw data into tables that can be used for analytics, reporting, and data science. Use Airflow to schedule and orchestrate jobs. Implement unit tests using Data Build Tool (DBT). Enforce production standards and governance best practices in the management of enterprise-level data, metrics, and reports. Be an active participant of code reviews. Develop and enforce coding and data standards to be applied across the team. Mentor junior members of the team. Optimize database architecture by trading off storage and computation to achieve low cost and high-performance. Build well-optimized SQL and Python code that reduces cost while increasing performance. Identify opportunities for cost optimization and propose alternative, more efficient architectures. Monitor storage and minimize wasted storage usage within Snowflake database.

Qualifications

Must have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related and 5 years of data engineering experience, including:

SQL database design
Schema design and dimensional data modeling
Experience designing, building, and maintaining data processing systems
Data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
Java and Python
Big data pipelines, cloud databases, and data architecture
Apache Spark, Apache Airflow
AWS cloud architecture
Must have AWS Solution Architect Associate Certification.
