 Overview

Site Reliability Engineers(SREs) at Frontdoor are responsible for maintaining the availability and uptime of infrastructure. SREs use software engineering principles to solve operational challenges to create reliable infrastructure. We try to reduce the toil from our everyday work using as much automation as possible.

Responsibilities

o Monitorand maintain current network infrastructure.

o Createnetwork monitoring strategy and alerting; automate auto healing of network components

o Createinfrastructure as code.

o Workas an individual contributor as part of team utilizing Scrum methodology.

o Createdeployment automation tools and methods for new networking components and update existing infrastructure with automation.

o Actas a technical consultant for software development teams to provide guidance, standards and knowledge.

o Assistin implementation of security best practices at all levels of the infrastructure.

o Ensuremaximum uptime of cloud hosted environments.

o Designand maintain high availability model for cloud hosted services.

o Workas part of an on-call rotation.

Qualifications

o Highdegree of knowledge in networking (protocols, LAN, WAN)

o Experienceworking with AWS, GCP VPC configuration, NAT, Load Balancing, monitoring.

o Understandingof Kubernetes and networking in a microservice architecture.

o VPNconnections on-prem to cloud providers and cloud provider to cloud provider.

o PaloAltonetworks PanOS and Panorama devices, physical and virtual.

o InfobloxGrid Manager

o Akamai

o Automationand scripting (Ansible, Python, Bash, Terraform preferred; Chef, Puppet, Jenkins OK)

o Familiaritywith zero trust network design principles.

o Knowledgeof Linux operating system.

o Dockerand container principles.

o Networktroubleshooting tools (tcpdump, netstat, nslookup, dig, etc.)
